Heritage Trail

Heritage Trail

Modbury is a heritage town with a unique recorded history going back to the Domesday Book. Once a Saxon meeting place, Modbury has experienced many important historic events, and has a number of famous people associated with it.

The Heritage Project identifed twelve specific heritage sites around the town, which can be identified by a brass plaque. These together with additional points of interest are highlighted in this Town Heritage Trail that follows a circular route roughly within the town’s conservation area. Although it minimises crossing roads please be vigilant where there are no pavements.
